Russell J. Carpentieri has 30 years of experience in the healthcare and life insurance industry. He is the co-founder of Opus Advisory Group, LLC where he developed yourPFO LLC which is a proprietary data aggregation and planning platform for individuals, entrepreneurs, and corporate executives.
Mr. Carpentieri also manages the healthcare practice within Opus, where he actively consults to over 300 corporate clients. His clients represent various industries including finance, private equity, retail, real estate, distribution, entertainment and professional services.

After graduating from Syracuse University, he joined the New York Jets Football Club for two seasons as a Special Teams player. He lives in Bedford, New York with his wife Suzanne and their four children, Stefan (Syracuse University), Nikolas (Penn State), Maia (Penn State) and Sophia.

Mark is consistently one of the top producing insurance professionals in the country and has been recognized for his thought leadership in alternative funding, provider network efficiency, and creative healthcare cost-containment solutions. He is a sought-after speaker and published blog author on health risk management and insurance programs, with recent speaking engagements at the NexGen Healthcare Summit as well as the ASCEND Health Insurance Conference.
Additionally, Mark has been bestowed one of the insurance industry’s coveted Rising Star in Healthcare Consulting awards and is nationally recognized as a Top Gun in Insurance, the highest individual recognition at Brown and Brown; a firm with more than 10,000 teammates. He joined Brown & Brown Insurance/Opus Advisory in March of 2016 and works out of the main servicing office in White Plains, NY.
Mark began his career with Weston Group Benefits in 2002 and joined Corporate Synergies Group, a Mid-Market employee benefits consulting firm in 2005 as one of the first employees in the region. There he managed over 20,000 covered lives and more than $95 million in annualized premium. Mark played an active role in supporting Corporate Synergies’ emergence as a leading national benefits brokerage and consultant. During his tenure, he was consistently recognized as an agency leader in sales & retention, a President’s Club member, and a Million Dollar producer three times.
His commitment to the benefits industry and desire to lead a world-class agency led him to Opus Advisory Group, where he began his career as Senior Vice President in March of 2016. Mark’s practical understanding of the service needs for his mid-market clients and his ability to consistently reduce healthcare spending for any employer faced with this challenge has led to the expansive growth and trusted reputation at Opus Advisory.
Mark identifies goals and objectives based on service requirements and appropriates Opus Advisory personnel and resources. He works closely with his account management team to ensure deliverables are attained, as promised, and specializes in reducing employer costs with creative alternatives that don’t follow the “Status Quo”. He will have a continuing presence on your account as a relationship manager and team leader.
Mark is a published blog author who has appeared in Crain’s New York, Newsday, LifeHealthPro, and in several industry trade journals. He resides in Greenwich, CT with his wife Monica and his three children, Lorenzo, Vincent, and Mila.
Nick Bueti joined Opus Advisory in June of 2020 as a Director of Account Management. In this role he will oversee a team of individuals responsible for servicing some of the firm’s largest clients. Nick will work hand in hand with the account team to provide financial oversight of the renewal, manage vendor relationships to drive results, and provide executive level relationship building. He brings over 25 years of experience in the Employee Benefits arena to Opus Advisory from both the broker and carrier side, having worked at both regional and national organizations. The bulk of Nick’s experience has been spent working in conjunction with middle market employers, who range from 50-5,000 employees, to bend the hyperinflationary cost-curve through creative solutions and alternative funding options.
Nick earned his BS in Finance from Siena College. He shares his time away from work and home with his wife, 5 boys, 2 dogs, a cat and a fish.
Leslie-Ann began her career in the insurance industry, over 20 years ago with Chase Insurance Agency. Her attention to detail and ability to coordinate resources from multiple disciplines allows her to continually ensure efficiency.
She works closely with the Employee Benefits Leadership team to develop, interpret and monitor the practices , policies and procedures ensuring that they align with the goals and priorities of the organization and are compliant, to establish operational excellence and performance for the division and all related areas.
Prior to joining Opus Advisory, Leslie Ann worked at Corporate Synergies where she oversaw New York Office locations in Long Island and Manhattan.
Leslie-Ann has an MBA with Concentrations in Management and Public Administration from Keller Graduate School and teaches as an Adjunct Professor at Berkeley College.
Scott has worked in employee benefits since 2011; he joined the Opus team as an Account Executive in 2016, and transitioned to Director of Underwriting in 2019 to help develop Opus’ expansive suite of deliverables and financial analysis tools.
Scott has lived in New York all of his life, and currently resides in Brewster. Scott attended Quinnipiac University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance.
Scott’s hobbies include reading, playing sports, working out, hiking, and traveling.
